Hello, my name is Susan Farris and my hobby is learning about the law. I have an uncle who is an attorney and I've always looked up to him and that's why I find subjects on law very interesting. Through speaking with my uncle and doing research on my own, I've learned about all the different fields of law. I find each one of these fields very interesting and I have the utmost admiration for lawyers because they help people through their legal struggles. I wanted to share this information with others who have questions about the different types of attorneys and the law.
As a dog lover, you probably don't think of them as anything but cute and cuddly. You take your dog with you wherever you go. It is a part of your family. However, imagine what might happen if you were to be attacked by another dog when walking down the street. Would you view your dog the same? Would you know what to do? Being attacked by a dog is bad enough, especially when the owner didn't have their dog properly restrained in the first place. Make sure to follow these simple tips to prevent becoming the victim in an already bad situation.
Seek medical treatment right away.
Regardless of whether you think your wounds are purely superficial or they are something more serious, you need to get in to your doctor or the hospital and get treated right away. The medical personnel on staff can evaluate the degree of your injuries and make sure everything is documented fully.
Documentation and treatment are the key to getting the compensation you deserve for your injuries. Failing to get treatment could end up hurting your case later on as the insurance company can try to claim that your injuries weren't as severe as they are. Not to mention, you don't know if the dog had rabies or something else that needs to be treated.
Don't accept a settlement offer without being informed of your options.
Sadly, there are a number of insurance companies who will try to get you to take a settlement to put the whole thing behind them. They don't want you to come after them and sue them for additional compensation, even though you might very well deserve it.
